Exercise bikes in Kenya start at KSh 45,000 for a spin bike and run to KSh 270,000 for a commercial Life Fitness recumbent. The four types do different jobs, and the one you want depends far more on who is riding than on the price.
Spin bikes are for hard, seated-forward training. Upright bikes are the closest thing to an ordinary bicycle. Recumbent bikes put you in a seat with a back rest, which is why they suit older riders, heavier riders and anyone coming back from a knee or back injury. Air bikes use a fan for resistance that rises the harder you push, so they are used for intervals rather than steady riding.

A spin bike at KSh 45,000 to KSh 70,000 is the usual answer for a house. It takes about a square metre, has no motor and no electronics to fail, and the resistance is a felt pad or a magnet you turn by hand. If nobody in the house has a knee or back problem, this is the bike that gets used.
A recumbent bike is the exception worth paying for. If the rider is over sixty, carrying weight, recovering from surgery or has been told to avoid pressure on the lower back, the seat and back rest are the difference between riding daily and not riding at all. It is the largest bike of the four and needs about two square metres.
Commercial bikes are built for eight to twelve hours a day rather than forty minutes. The 22 kg flywheel spin bike at KSh 66,500 and the Crystal X5 at KSh 70,000 are the two we supply most often to gyms. Hotels and estates tend to take the Life Fitness upright and recumbent pair, because guests of every age and fitness level have to be able to use them without instruction.
Air bikes sit slightly apart. They are bought for conditioning classes and functional floors, not for members riding alone, because the resistance has no ceiling and the noise carries.

We are gym equipment suppliers in Thindigua, Nairobi, and every bike listed here is on the showroom floor. Ride each type for a few minutes and the choice usually makes itself, particularly between an upright and a recumbent.
Commercial bikes are delivered and installed by us, and we service and repair what we sell. That matters more on cardio than on weights: a bike with a worn bearing or a dead console is a repair job, not a replacement, and we have a technician who covers Nairobi and the surrounding counties.

An exercise bike costs between KSh 45,000 and KSh 270,000 in Kenya. Spin bikes occupy the bottom of that range at KSh 45,000 to KSh 95,000, upright bikes sit at KSh 160,000 to KSh 200,000, and recumbent bikes are KSh 260,000 to KSh 270,000 because of the seat assembly and the larger frame.
A recumbent bike seats you in a reclined chair with a back rest and the pedals in front of you rather than below you. It suits older riders, heavier riders and anyone with knee, hip or lower-back pain, because your weight rests on the seat instead of on your hands, saddle and joints. It is also the easiest bike to get on and off.
For hard training at home, a spin bike is better value: it costs a third as much, has nothing electronic to fail and holds a heavier flywheel. For a shared gym floor, an upright bike is usually better, because the console, the programmes and the upright seating suit members who will not ride in a forward-leaning racing position.
Spin bikes and air bikes need no power at all. Upright and recumbent bikes either run from mains power or generate their own from your pedalling, depending on the model, and we will tell you which before delivery.
Yes. We deliver countrywide, and commercial bikes are installed by our own team rather than left in boxes. Delivery cost depends on the destination and we confirm it before you pay.
